Thanks to all who are taking action during the legislative session. Unfortunately, last week the Bill to protect women's and girls' rights to single sex sports was killed in committee in a party line vote. More info about that is below.
Another Bill of concern this week is SB258, which would require that transgender ideology be taught to all NM public school students in middle school.

Senate Bill 258 - Human Sexuality Education would require that sex education be taught in middle school instead of high school, and that sex ed must include teaching about transgender ideology as well as abortion as a “pregnancy outcome option.”
It is inappropriate and dangerous for schools to teach middle schoolers about gender ideology and abortion. Please go here to easily send an email to the committee and Governor MLG:

Oppose HB246 which would raise minimum wage to $17/hour. This will results in higher prices and/or fewer jobs. Most businesses are operating under slim profit margins, so they will either have to raise prices, fire people, or close shop. Urge Tough-on-Crime Legislation. Legislators have rolled several very weak crime bills into one omnibus crime bill, HB8. This bill does not take a hard enough stance on repeat offenders and drug dealers, nor does it address juvenile offenders. Oppose HB 12 Red Flag Law. Allows unqualified people to determine a gun owner is unfit to carry and may be a threat to society.
